In order to celebrate the local peach crop, the Parker County Peach Festival is held annually in Weatherford’s historic downtown district on the second Saturday in July. Known to produce the sweetest and juiciest peaches, Weatherford and Parker County were dubbed the Peach Capital of Texas by state legislature, and have maintained this title with pride throughout the years.

Held on July 9th, This one-day festival is Weatherford’s largest event, as well as one of the best attended in the state.  Each year more than 35,000 visitors come out to enjoy local artists and craftsman, live entertainment, children’s activities, and the Peach Pedal – a 61-mile charity bike ride that benefits local non-profits through United Way of Parker County.  This event is family friendly and is the perfect way to get outside and beat the Texas heat.  Tantalize your taste buds with peach-inspired treats such as peach iced tea, peach juleps, or peach ice cream – why try just one when you can try them all?

There will be plenty of refreshments and shade available for you and the kiddos, but be sure to dress appropriately and bring sunscreen.  Temperatures at this time of year are no joke, often topping out in the triple digits.   The event begins at 8:00 a.m. and runs until 5:00 p.m. Adults must pay a $5.00 admission fee, and children 12 and under get in free! Tickets purchased in advance through the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce are only $4.00.  Free remote parking is available, and the city also provides free shuttle rides to the entry gate.  Parking options, maps, and other information are provided on their website.

The Peach Festival is sure to satisfy all your peachy needs, providing the perfect opportunity to get out and connect with the community while enjoying all the festival has to offer.  This event facilitates fun for a great cause, doubling as both a festival and the Chamber’s largest annual fundraiser – proceeds from admission fees are used to directly benefit the local community.  We’re peachy keen on this festival, and we hope you are too!
