Denison
|
Denison sprang up overnight with the railroad’s arrival back in 1872. It’s also the birthplace of U.S. president Dwight D. Eisenhower. The downtown district has art galleries, an assortment of antiques shops, the historic Rialto Theatre, a winery, and several restaurants. Just outside of town lies Lake Texoma, with more than 580 miles of shoreline and 89,000 acres of water. Spend the day at the Hagerman Wildlife Refuge or Eisenhower State Park.
