With spring here and the weather warming up, festival season is approaching: which means tons of music, food, and fun! Here’s one to check out right in the heart of downtown Dallas.
Coming up on its 21st year, the Deep Ellum Arts Festival is taking place April 3-5 for three full days of great music, beautiful artwork, and delicious food. Covering six blocks of Main St. in Dallas’ Entertainment District, the festival is free to the public’s viewing, hearing, and tasting pleasure. Throughout the area, four stages will be set up, where more than 100 bands and artists will be performing. With the myriad of musicians playing, you’re bound to hear a range from folk, indie, and jazz music to “funky freshness,” bluegrass, and reggae.
And what’s an art festival without art? Throughout the fest, visual artists will be displaying their works in a multitude of mediums. Decorative and wearable art will be sold by various vendors alongside the entertainment of performance art.
There’s a lot to look forward to for this huge street festival, but arguably the best part about it is the pet parade. On the Sunday of the fest, pet owners (feel free to join if you’re a pet owner yourself!) take out their furry companions dressed in adorable and hilarious costumes.
So come for the music and art and stay for the pets! Deep Ellum Arts Festival is a great way to start off the festival season!
