Bonham
|
This charming community is a historic landmark on the blackland prairie south of the Red River, the waterway that marks the border between Oklahoma and Texas. Named after Alamo hero James Butler Bonham, the town pays homage to its namesake with a statue on the courthouse square. Three small lakes at the nearby Caddo National Grasslands are open year-round for camping, boating, and fishing. Stroll around the town’s restored buildings and visit the Sam Rayburn House Museum to learn about this legendary politician who called Bonham home.
