While in Caldwell, pay a visit to the Czech Heritage Museum, where you’ll learn all about the ancestry behind those delicious kolaches and Burleson County’s origins as a Czech settlement. Lunch: Mama’s Kitchen

Head on over to Somerville for a truly delicious home-cooked meal at Mama’s Kitchen. This is the spot Southern cooking and hospitality at its finest. Try the chicken strips and fried okra or take the Tex-Mex route with the carne guisada tacos. But don’t forget – save room for a slice of some good old-fashioned pie, à la mode of course.

Take a short 30-minute drive back to Caldwell for it’s number one attraction – Royalty Pecan Farms. Now that you’ve worked up an appetite, snack on some tasty pecans, take a tour of the farm, and then spend some time in their quaint welcome center. Situated on a buff overlooking 500 acres of lush pecan trees, the gift shop is the perfect place to end the visit and take in the beautiful view.

If you’re here on a weeknight, grab a seat just in time for Happy Hour (3- 7 pm) and dig into to half-price appetizers and drink specials galore.
